About MeI am a Christian. I try to grow everyday. I want to be transformed into His image. I am not perfect and will never be. Praise God, though, Jesus bore my sins. His blood daily washes me and allows me to be a child of the King.
I was born and raised Church of Christ. My pedigree goes back for generations of Church of Christ members. I was baptized into Christ over 20 years ago and have preached hundreds of sermons. Many of the sermons contradict what I now believe and teach. If we're honest, isn't that often the case? |
My History
Welcome to my blog. I know there are millions of blogs out here you could visit, so I appreciate your visit to mine.
Purpose: My purpose is simple--I want to help all of us to know God as He truly is. None of us approaches God as a blank slate. We bring our ideas, beliefs, misconceptions, culture, etc. with us, and sometimes those things get in the way of seeing God as He truly is. Much of what I will say will be directed toward some Church of Christ belief because that is what I knew for my whole life. Many of the CoC beliefs are biblical, but some of them are damnable and, I fear, will lead to many lost souls.
Caveat: I understand that some of the things on this blog will upset people. It is not my intention to upset people needlessly, but truth is naturally upsetting when we believe untruths. I will allow people to comment on my blogs and to engage me. I don't know everything and certainly don't have all of the answers. I simply ask that your tone remain loving and respectful. If it is not, I will simply ask you to reword your comment. I believe in discourse and that truth will win out, so there is no need to censor.
Final remarks: Feel free to quote me or use my material. If you are going to use what I say in your sermon or article, please use it within context and do not make it say something I did not intend. Possibly some of you reading this now see me as a pariah. I understand. I was like you once. Just keep reading...
